Tissue Immunology

Our Tissue Immunology laboratories in Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal are ISO 15189 and EFI-accredited testing facilities that provide histocompatibility and immunogenetics testing services for solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.

Testing services offered to the public and private sector include:

  1. ABO grouping
  2. High-resolution molecular Next Generation Sequencing for Human Leucocyte Antigen (HLA) typing (patients and donors)
  3. HLA antibody identification
  4. Complement dependent cytotoxicity crossmatch
  5. Human Platelet Antigen and Antibody testing
  6. Testing specific HLA alleles for disease associations
